Durations: Andy Stott, Jill Fraser

... there is no state of mind, however simple, which does not change every moment, since there is no consciousness without memory, and no continuation of a state without the addition, to the present feeling, of the memory of past moments. It is this which constitutes duration.” – Henri Bergson, An Introduction to Metaphysics

Public Records & Pioneer Works present Durations 2024: a weekend-long, multi-instrumentalist exploration of sound as an intentional act of connection.

Andy Stott

In collaboration with Pioneer Works, Durations presents Andy Stott, British producer known for his explorations in techno, post-punk, and dream pop with glimmers of dub and ambient influence. Stott’s studies in sound design have resulted in numerous acclaimed EPs and full-length albums held together by gritty, textured soundscapes; experimental production techniques; and deep atmospherics. Whether through dark robotics or lukewarm melodies, his productions invoke a rejection of the status quo and continue to push the boundaries of electronic music.
