Hiro Kone is the alias of Nicky Mao, a New York City based musician and producer. Her forthcoming LP, entitled “Silvercoat the throng”, will be released on Dais Records September 24, 2021. Taking a deconstructive approach to music, she is known to draw upon a combination of modular synthesis, noise, field recordings, and her once abandoned violin training.
Synth Library NYC is a lending library of synthesizers, recording equipment, modular gear and other electronic musical instruments. We are committed to democratizing access to music technology and putting the means of production into the hands of those under-represented in these fields/who may not otherwise be able to afford. As a membership organization, NYC Synth Library seeks to facilitate connection and learning amongst its members.
This program is supported in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
