Canceled: DIY Powerbanks with Hackett
UPDATE: This workshop has unfortunately been canceled.
The batteries we use to run our electric cars and power our homes are based on the same technology. Learn how to harness this technology to build your own energy grid with Tech Resident Hackett. By the end of this class, participants will learn how to obtain the cells needed to build a power bank for free, how to make safe power banks, and how to link them together. Every student will leave with a useful power bank and the knowledge to scale systems up to grid-replacement size.
Date: This in-person workshop will meet on Saturday, December 4 from 1-4pm.
Price: $75
Audience: Open to all.
Materials: Materials will be provided.
Hackett founded and directed the Madagascar Institute, one of the top jet-powered carnival ride purveyors in Brooklyn. Surviving the Apocalypse in style has been an interest of his for a while, and has spawned a 10-episode teevee show, a monthly magazine column, and this bio.
He is a Bronx native, mostly scar tissue and questionable life choices. The New York Times called him “hulking.”
He has not been arrested in over a year.
